The WSBTwenty

  In-depth equals Out-perform

The BeanScreen is based on fundamentals.  Every month, stocks are screened and scored 0-85.  Over time, an average score and rank is compiled and calculated for each stock.  The higher the score, the stronger a company's fundamentals.  Here is the breakdown:

60-85 = very strong
50-59 = strong
40-49 = average
30-39 = weak
00-29 = very weak

There are six primary categories that contribute to a stock's score:

Growth Rates                                Financial Condition
Price Ratios                                    Investment Returns
Profit Margins                               Management Efficiency

Within each are an assortment of parameters that are processed.  Other secondary parameters are also calculated by the Bean Screen, such as relative strength, institutional ownership and insider ownership.

Remember, our stock rankings are not a "buy" list, but an index of companies that we believe exhibit very healthy fundamentals.  We track their performance collectively via the WSB20 to get a feel for how they behave, irrespective of price entry, compared to the broader markets.  Below is this month's WSB20, with each stock's "Average Score" noted.
